Months of the year
Kazakh month names mix native Kazakh words (қаңтар, қыркүйек, желтоқсан…) with Arabic and Persian borrowings (наурыз, сәуір, тамыз). The most culturally important is "наурыз" (March) — the Persian/Central Asian new year, celebrated with a major holiday on March 21st.
